250 years ago, the spark that led to American independence wasn’t a philosophical debate — it was a tax bill. The Stamp Act, Sugar Act, and Tea Act weren’t huge taxes, but they symbolized something bigger: taxation without representation. In a way, the U.S. was founded on a conversation about fair tax policy.
