I guess it's time to post:. IF you are a non-filer for a few years and you come into my office or any other office to have them prepared, don't expect to receive your refunds! The law is very explicit:. If you don't file within three years of the date you "should have filed", the IRS will not issue your refund.
Apparently, many are unaware of this fact. Before his retirement, I had a client who would file 3 years at a time and receive a huge refund check for those three years... said it was the only way he'd save money. When it came, he took it straight to his credit union.
Just putting this out there for anyone who doesn't know this law exists 🥰
