The Internal Revenue Service has issued Executive Order 14247, which mandates the transition to electronic payments and the phased elimination of paper check disbursements. In accordance with this order, the IRS began phasing out paper checks on September 30, 2025. When a taxpayer does not provide direct deposit information, the issuance of a refund is delayed by a minimum of six (6) weeks.

In such cases, the IRS will send a notice to the taxpayer advising them of the delay and outlining alternative methods for receiving their refund in the future.

To claim the overtime tax deduction for the 2025 tax year, you must provide your tax preparer a year-end pay stub or official documentation from your employer. The document must clearly show your total overtime wages earned for the year.
