**UPDATE** LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE RESCHEDULED TO NEXT SATURDAY DECEMBER 21, MORE DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY.

This is the post I have been dreading to make. After a week of saying the parade will happen today no matter what, I have made the decision to cancel all remaining outdoor activities for the 2024 Geneseo Christmas Walk, due to severe ice conditions. This decision was made after consulting with City and Emergency Services leadership about the current weather conditions.

Snow and rain are one thing, but ice is a whole different beast. The safety and well being of our guests, volunteers and staff trumps everything else.

All indoor activities will still take place, but please check ahead for any updates or cancelations.

Y'all know how much I love this event and this is a gut wrenching decision for me to make. Our small businesses and community look forward to this day and unfortunately, the weather will win the day this time. The only silver lining here is knowing that a call like this could potentially save a lot of people from hassle or worse, possible injury with all of this ice.

I'm sorry. I hope you understand. I'll keep the page updated with indoor activity updates for the 2024 Geneseo Christmas Walk.
