Senior Revenue Accountant
Dallas, TX
The Senior Revenue Accountant reports to the Revenue Accounting Manager and is responsible for monthly general ledger close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and income statement and balance sheet analysis. The responsibilities for this position will be carried out in collaboration with the Company's Controller and Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other schedules for month-end close in a timely manner
Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
Prepare monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies with very complex issues.
Prepare monthly analysis of reserves, determine appropriate requirements and guide reserve adjustments.
Provide direction for IT resources in resolving CISI A/R systems issues.
Identify accounting and control issues and recommend, develop and implement solutions
Perform annual financial audit prep, research and support
Analyze financial information, call attention to trends, make recommendations, collect information and prepare reports
Create and maintain desk procedures
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Provide support to other accounting areas during vacation or peak periods
Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or related field preferred
5 or more years high volume accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting theory
Intermediate level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory
Good knowledge of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting application
Ability to apply judgment in assessing bad debt reserves and make recommendations on necessary adjustments.
Strong analytical skills
Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Microsoft Excel experience a must
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system knowledge is required. Oracle experience is a plus
Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task
