She worked nineteen years for the Internal Revenue Service, starting in the mail room and ending up as a Federal Revenue Officer. She decided she could be of greater service by leaving the IRS and opening her own tax office. So confident was she in her ability, she cashed out her federal retirement account and applied it toward building her business! Gilda maintains her Enrolled Agent certificatio
n by taking the required courses every three years. In addition to the The Walker Group, she has at one time done some real estate development and owned a Paul Mitchell Beauty School. Gilda was one of four children, born and raised in Fresno, California. She and her husband reside in Fresno. Gilda has four children and four grand children. When not in the office she and her husband enjoy travel, visiting with family and friends, watching vintage westerns and she and her husband's Thursday after work "date night" at a local restaurant. Her latest project is opening a satellite office with her eldest daughter in Montana. She faithfully supports her local church. I have been asked this question on many occasions by individuals who learned I was opening a second Walker Group office in Western Montana, a thousand miles from the Fresno, California home office. I have visited this area over the past 18 years to see my daughter, her husband, and my grandchildren – and I grew to love the area. Recently my daughter realized that her children were of the ages that she now has more discretionary time. We jointly decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to join my business. She has extensive experience working in administrative capacities for several non-profit organizations and outreach programs. She has worked in tax businesses both in California and in Montana, and has worked for me prior to moving to the Bitterroot Valley. After whirlwind long distance planning sessions and a 5 day trip to Hamilton accompanied by my husband and my lead employee from the Fresno Corporate Office, we have opened our office in the Ironhorse Business Center, a first class facility in the center of Hamilton. The Walker Group has been in the Tax business for twenty-five years in Fresno. Prior to this I worked for the Internal Revenue Service for eighteen years, retiring as a Revenue Officer. My IRS and work training and knowledge combined with my daughter’s talents, skills, and strong work ethic enables us to offer the citizens of Western Montana a diversified array of proven professional tax services guided by a combined 60 plus years of experience.
