2026-2027 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS
COMMUNITY MEETINGS

The City of Fresno will receive approximately $11.7 million of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Community Planning and Development (HUD CPD) to fund programs and projects to implement the City’s housing and community development strategies to benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The funds will be sub-awarded to programs and projects operated by City Departments or eligible organizations to address the most critical community needs outlined in the City’s adopted 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan available at www.fresno.gov/housing.

Community Needs Workshops will be held to request input about which eligible activities residents would like to see funded, and how those activities can be most effectively implemented. To provide input, all residents are invited to attend a public workshop and/or participate in a survey. The meeting details are below.

Today is NOT the last day to file a tax return. Today is only the last day to file an extension to avoid a late fee penalty.

You may still E-file your return up to November 15th. After that, it will have to be mailed it in.

Monday April 15th is NOT...I repeat..is NOT the last day to file your tax return.

It is only the last day to file an extension if you need more time to file. You can e-file until October 18, 2024

IRS Identity Verification:

Once again due to the increasing number of fraudulent tax returns with Identity theft, the IRS has been sending out more and more of these Identity Verification Request letters.

The IRS allows you to do the Verification via phone or via online. However, doing the Verification by phone and online can be almost impossible and very frustrating.

The quickest and easiest way to handle this task is by going directly into your nearest IRS office and take with you the following:
-ID Card/Drivers License
-Copy of your Tax Return
(PDF copy on your phone or tablet is acceptable also)

An agent at the IRS office will be able to verify that it is indeed you with those 2 simple items. Takes 5 minutes and your done.
