Hi all, it’s Hillary! If we prepared your 2021 income tax return you should have gotten an update letter in the mail recently. For everyone else I want to update you on changes at Campbell Financial Services! We have sold the income tax preparation portion of our business effective December 1, 2022. Kristin Drake, CPA will be operating out of the Adams street office building and will be ready to help you with all of your income tax prep needs! I will be available to consult with Kristin as needed and I won’t be far away. I’ll be working from my home office and will concentrate on payroll, bookkeeping and accounting services. I’ll be using my corporate name of Williams Campbell Accounting, Inc. and will post updated phone numbers soon. Please reach out if you have questions.

Tax Term Tuesday: Tax Return vs. Tax Refund

These terms are related, but are two different things.

Your tax return is the tax form or forms you file to report income, deductions and - if self-employed - expenses for the year.

Your tax refund is the money you get back from the government. It’s an overpayment of taxes from what you paid, or had withheld throughout the year, along with any deductions and refundable credits that reduce your tax.
