Have you heard about GLP-1 coverage for Medicare beneficiaries?

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the launch of the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, a short-term demonstration program that begins July 1, 2026 and runs through December 31, 2027. The program is designed to serve as a bridge to the upcoming BALANCE (Better Approaches to Lifestyle and Nutrition for Comprehensive hEalth) Model in Medicare Part D.

The intent of the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is to help eligible Medicare Part D members access certain GLP-1 medications for weight loss at a reduced cost.

Medications included in the Bridge may include:

Foundayo (tablet)
Wegovy (injection or tablet)
Zepbound Kwikpen (injection)

We’re starting something new at the Senior Resource Center—and we need your help to make it meaningful.

We’re looking for volunteer facilitators to help lead a casual caregiver support group. This won’t be a formal or clinical setting—just a welcoming space where current and past caregivers can connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Caregiving can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. A simple conversation with someone who understands can make all the difference.

The Senior Resource Center stands apart because it offers not just services, but stability, safety, and hope. It is the trusted place families turn to in moments of uncertainty, and its work strengthens our entire region. Their staff and volunteers bring compassion, expertise, and a deep commitment to dignity and independence for every person they serve.
They made an extraordinary impact in 2025—helping residents save more than $1 million on prescription drug costs during Medicare Open Enrollment, filing 367 tax returns with over $200,000 in refunds, and supporting nearly 500 individuals in safely remaining in their homes through the Community Care Program. Their Adult Protective Services team investigated 245 reports to protect vulnerable adults, and Pretzel City Transit provided 43,393 rides to more than a thousand clients, ensuring access to medical care, groceries, and essential services.
Beyond these essential programs, they continue to listen to the community and respond with purpose. They expanded wellness and educational offerings—Chair Yoga, Better Balance classes, technology education, Lunch & Learns, book clubs, and creative workshops—helping older adults stay active, connected, and confident.
