📚 Liabilities are debts or obligations a business owes to others. These can include loans, accounts payable, wages owed, taxes payable, and other financial commitments.

Think of liabilities as what a business owes, while assets are what a business owns.

For example:
A company takes out a $50,000 loan to purchase new equipment. That loan is recorded as a liability because it must be repaid.

Remember the accounting equation:
Assets = Liabilities + Equity!
