Did you know the first income tax in the United States was introduced in 1861 to help fund the Civil War? It was 3% on incomes over $800. People were not thrilled then either.

165 years later, and the tax code is a little more complicated. Okay, a lot more complicated, but the goal is still the same. Fund the country, file on time, and hopefully keep a little extra in your pocket.

⚠️ The IRS is paying attention, and so should you. A Florida man was recently sentenced to over three years in federal prison after filing false tax returns claiming fuel tax credits he was not entitled to. He was also ordered to pay back over $103,000 to the U.S. Treasury.

Meet Remy! A loyal guy just waiting for his person.

Remy is a handsome adult Beagle mix with that classic hound charm. Soulful eyes, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of love to give. He's good with other dogs and ready to settle into a home where he finally belongs.

Remy is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to go. The shelter is still learning more about how he does with kids and cats, so reach out to them directly and a meet-and-greet can help figure out if he's the right fit for your family.
