So excited for our team to once more spend the day having fun and sharing in the joy of the season!

We are so excited that once more our team will be "dashing" through the aisles of Meijer to shop for holiday gifts, clothing, non-perishable food and hygiene items for the 25 children from My Joyful Heart and 20 Veteran's from VOA Illinois we have sponsored this year as well as our annual effort to provide gift bags for Operation Blessing and stocking stuffers for Operation Christmas!!

Each year this brings the joy of the season to our team, our community and to the organizations we support! With your help we can make an even bigger impact!

Tax Season Reminders from DSWD

As we kick off 2025, it’s time to start thinking about your taxes! To help you get ahead, here are some important Tax Season Reminders:

1.Gather Your Documents Early 📂
-W-2s, 1099s, and other income statements
-Receipts for deductions and credits (charitable donations, medical expenses, etc.)
-Last year’s tax return (for reference)

2. New Tax Laws & Changes 📜
Stay updated on tax law changes that might affect your filing. New credits, deductions, or adjustments could benefit you!

3.Review Your Withholdings 💵
If your income or life circumstances have changed (new job, marriage, kids), it might be time to update your W-4 to avoid under- or over-withholding next year.

4.Maximize Deductions & Credits 💡
Be sure to take advantage of available deductions like home office, business expenses, education credits, and others. We can help identify what you qualify for!

5.Consider Retirement Contributions 🏦
Contributing to a retirement account (IRA, 401(k), etc.) before tax deadlines can help reduce your taxable income.

6. File on Time to Avoid Penalties ⏰
The IRS deadline is March 15th for S Corps, Partnerships, Trusts and April 15th for individuals and C Corps, but extensions are available if needed. However, paying any taxes owed on time is crucial to avoid penalties.

7.Plan for Next Year 📅
Tax planning isn’t just about filing. Let’s start looking ahead to next year’s tax strategy to keep you on track all year long.

Looking to gain experience in accounting while working with a dynamic team? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: In house, remote or hybrid options available. Out-of-state candidates welcome!
Duration: January 2025 and ending on or before April 15, 2025

🔹Benefits:

-Temp to Perm and Full-Time option available

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

-Preparation and review of federal and state income taxes primarily for individuals
-Respond to inquiries from client and work with client to gather necessary information for completion of required documents
-Verify past tax forms for accuracy
-Interpret the U.S. tax code.
-Research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues.

🔹 Desired Skills and Experience:

-Associate’s degree in accounting or finance.
-3+ years prior tax experience in public accounting.
-Experience preparing individual tax returns.
-Strong accounting and analytical skills.
-Self-starter and team player with ability to recognize when additional hour commitments are needed and willingness to take on extra work to meet firm-wide deadlines.
-Knowledge of UltraTax, SurePrep & SafeSend a plus
