Making To-Do lists can be very powerful to take those items we often 'want' to do and move them into the 'got it done' column.
Take a few moments and write down a handful of things you WILL get checked off this weekend. And doesn't it feel good to check things off the list?
Here's a sample list to help you get started:
1. Breathe - deep breath in, hold it for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. Repeat 10 times.
2. Stretch - The act of stretching can infuse blood into parts of your body that need it the most, lower your blood pressure, and increase your level of calm.
3. Straighten that spot in your house that accumulates "stuff". We affectionately call this "the dump zone".
4. Run 2 loads of laundry and put it all away.
5. Set a timer for 3 minutes. Sit down in a chair in a quiet room, close your eyes, and be still. Allow your mind to focus on the next 3 things you will accomplish, visualize them finishing them and checking them off. When the timer goes off, get up and do those 3 things immediately.
6. Item 1
7. Item 2
8. Item 3
9. Celebrate your productivity with a dance party in the kitchen with your loved ones.
10. Call your best friend and say hello.
11. Take that laundry out of the dryer and put it away. You know, the load you forgot about in between items 4 and now.
12. Eat a healthy snack.
13. Drink some water.
14. Set a 4 minute timer and scroll social media until the timer goes off. Then set your phone down and do the next 3 things on your list.
15. Item 1
16. Item 2
17 Item 3
You get the idea. Mix productivity with stillness, hydration, happiness, and intention. Not only will this make your day more enjoyable, you might even find that you got more done, you were less stressed while you did it, and at the end of the day, you don't feel sad that you 'missed out' on the day because you had chores to do. If this sounds like it won't work for you, I would encourage you to try it on a handful of days before you decide. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Last 2 items:
1. Make a list for tomorrow
2. Go to bed early
Be well friends, and have a fantastic weekend!
