Some people say pay off everything first. Some say invest immediately.

A great accountant is worth their weight in gold, and the proactive ones do real tax planning that saves you money.

But even the best one is focused on a specific job: the tax strategy, the compliance, the structure. What that role isn't built to do is sit with you on the bigger picture, whether you're on track for the life you want, how much is "enough," when to take money off the table versus reinvest, and how today's decisions ripple into your future.

Especially when one spouse owns the business and the other works a more traditional job.

But filing taxes is about reporting what already happened.
Planning is about deciding what happens next, with intention, clarity, and time.
