Marcus drove 14,200 business miles last year. His CPA deducted 4,260 of them. TaxHakr found the other 9,940 - worth $6,958 off his taxable income.

Same year. Same trips. Same gas already spent. The only difference is what got tracked.

If you drive for a living, you should not be doing the mileage math at midnight on April 14th. Take the free 2-minute Test Drive at https://app.taxhakr.com/

Did you know your ring light is a tax write-off? 💡
Most gig workers and creators miss an average of $3,200 in deductions every year. Not because they're careless — because the tax system wasn't built for them. It was built for W-2 employees, and then half-heartedly adapted for everyone else.

Here are 5 deductions most creators leave on the table every single year:
🚗 Mileage — every client run, every supply pickup
🏠 Home office + phone — if you use it for work, it counts
💡 Your gear — ring lights, cameras, software, subscriptions
🤝 Half your self-employment tax — it's deductible and most people skip it
📱 Business expenses — more than you think qualifies

TaxHakr™ finds all of this automatically. No CPA. No forms. No spreadsheets. Just tax intelligence built for the way you actually work.

Pop quiz: What do $500, $1,200, and $3,000 have in common?

They're all perfectly round numbers. And they're all the kind of thing that makes the IRS take a second look at your return.

If you're a freelancer, contractor, or gig worker filing a 1099, your deductions tell a story. And when every expense is a clean, round number, that story sounds a lot like "I guessed."

The IRS uses automated scoring systems that flag unusual patterns — including clusters of estimated-looking deductions. Real expenses look like $487.32, not $500.

Ironically, a messy tax return is often a more credible one.

We wrote the full breakdown on why this happens, where freelancers round the most (mileage, home office, supplies), and exactly what to do instead.
