In January 2022, the IRS will mail you Letter 6419 to provide the total amount of Advance Child Tax Credit that you have received during 2021. If you filed married filing jointly, both you and your spouse will receive the letters. Please keep both letters regarding those payments. Your refund can be delayed if those amounts are not reported correctly!!!

The portal for the Advance Child Tax Credit Payments is starting to become available on the IRS website. For those who choose to wait until you file your taxes and not receive the Advance Payments, the portal is already available for you.

Wanted to provide some news regarding the deadline to file individual taxes, it has been extended from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021.

Please keep in mind that this news is only for the federal and not state taxes. If there is news about individual state taxes being extended with in particular to California, we will post an update.

IR-2021-59, March 17, 2021 — The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced today that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.
