Midwinter Stonehenge "Wild Oats" is a highly collectible vintage stoneware pattern released in 1974, designed by Eve Midwinter. Featuring a rustic, speckled oatmeal background, brown edges, and a delicate wheat stalk motif, these pieces are celebrated for their retro 1970s boho aesthetic.

The "Stonehenge" range was introduced by W.R. Midwinter Ltd. in Staffordshire, England. Midwinter was later acquired by Wedgwood, which continued producing the pattern into the late into the 1980s.

Known as "oven-to-tableware," it is highly practical and was built to be microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.

Hello Friends! I have just returned from an extended trip to visit my grandchildren in Copenhagen. I am often asked for my list of "must see" recommendations by folks planning a trip to this wonderful city and thought I'd share a few with you over the coming week.

Let me say first that, in my opinion, the Little Mermaid statue you'll find on every guided tour map is highly overrated and terribly underwhelming. While there are many incredible museums and castles to see, and I think you should, what I love to do most is walk and discover hidden treasures - little tuck away shops and eateries you won't find on tour maps - and visit with their proprietors.

A favorite place I love to explore is Store Kongensgade. It is the longest street in Central Copenhagen, and it is here you will find a plethora of antique shops and resellers specializing in jewelry, silver, amber, and Danish Modern furniture.

Something to remember when visiting many of these shops is that it is common to keep the front door locked during business hours and only let in one or two shoppers at a time. Don't be shy if you encounter a locked door -- ring the bell! Most all shopkeepers speak English and are able to assist you with international shipping.

We recently finished this project on behalf of some delightful clients who have used this stunning 2521 square foot beach view home as a family vacation retreat for several years. So many of the plants in my garden were rescued from estates I have worked in over the years. There is often a period of a few to several months (or longer) between when an estate is unoccupied and when my team is called in. Plants, yards, and garden areas quickly decline when they are not being regularly tended. Plants in plastic pots are the first to die.

We are a team of plant lovers and rescuers, so the first thing we do is triage the potted plants, both indoor and outdoor, and do CPR. This beautiful yellow rose had me worried last year - I was sure it was a goner. I hauled it home anyway, put it in a sunny spot, and called in The Nice Catholic Boy for emergency measures STAT. He does have a gift for resurrecting roses and orchids. It was worth a shot.

I am happy to report its baaaaaaaack and thriving and putting out some beautiful blooms! I have no idea what variety it is, but I call it the "larrybeth" in memory of some wonderful friends who found love with each other late in their lives and allowed me a small part in their story.

Central to our mission to provide professional, ethical estate liquidation and downsizing services to our community is our commitment to also offer advocacy and caring support to our friends and neighbors as they navigate the challenges that come with aging, change, and loss.

My non-profit foundation, The Good Deed Project 501c3, allows us to share resources with community members who could use some extra support, either temporarily or longer term. Our lending library distributes walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs and other assistive devices to help with independence. The Soup Brigade delivers nutrition rich, homemade soup three times a week to those facing medical challenges. We also stay up to date on resources available to our seniors and assist in accessing those when appropriate.

Every member of my estate sales team is equipped and encouraged to assist and respond to requests for support, but it is our community care coordinator Sylvia Clyma Garrett who coordinates the bulk of requests that come in day after day. You can reach her Tuesday through Saturday by calling my office at 541-997-7766. We also accept donations of used, working medical equipment and unopened supplies during our regular shop hours, noon to 4pm. These are made available to anyone in need, free of charge.

For nearly 30 years, this community has supported my business. I am grateful for that trust. This is one way my team and I say thank you. Please check in on your neighbors. And if you or someone you know needs a little help, we are here and we love to serve.

This Week's Tuesday Tip - an introduction to Chinese Alter or Temple Fruit

This beautiful collection of Temple Fruit comes from my long-time friend, Sally Rash. I have admired it for years and am delighted to be able to feature it in my shop!

Porcelain "temple fruit" or "altar fruit" are carefully crafted, glazed ceramic sculptures of fruits (most commonly peaches, pomegranates, and citruses) made in China, their popularity reaching a pinnacle in the 18th and 19th centuries during the Qing Dynasty. These pieces were most commonly arranged in pyramids on plates or in baskets as permanent and deeply symbolic offerings on family or temple altars.

Alter fruits served as spiritual offerings to deities or ancestors. They represented a "perpetual offering," ensuring the altar remained beautiful and abundant without the need to constantly replace perishable fresh fruit.

While primarily used on altars, they were also used in tombs. Worshippers believed that these "faux" offerings were visually indistinguishable from the real thing to the dieties.

The craftmanship on these pieces shows the care and attention to accuracy of depiction and quality. Artists would individually model each fruit with the idea that they would be stacked into a decorative pyramid on the alter, highlighting the dedication to detail that is well know of Qing-era artisans.
