We’re approaching halfway through the year—how is your business doing compared to the goals you set in January?

Now is the perfect time to review:
✅ Revenue and profitability
✅ Cash flow
✅ Expenses
✅ Outstanding receivables
✅ Budget vs. actual results

Many business owners are so busy working in their business that they rarely take time to work on their business. A mid-year review can help you identify opportunities, correct course if needed, and finish the year strong.

If you don't know your numbers, you can't make informed decisions about your business.

Have you done your mid-year financial check-in yet?

MYTH:
“If there’s money in the bank, the business is profitable.”

FACT:
Profit and cash flow are NOT the same.

A business can show a profit on paper and still struggle to pay bills. On the other hand, a business may have money in the bank temporarily because of loans, delayed expenses, or unpaid taxes.

That’s why understanding your numbers matters:
✔️ Profit
✔️ Cash Flow
✔️ Expenses
✔️ Accounts Receivable
✔️ Debt

Your bank balance only tells part of the story.

Do you review your financial reports monthly?

With tax season over (unless you filed an extension), here is a list of things that you can write off and can't write off.

✅ You CAN write off:
1. Business supplies (office items, software, tools)
2. A portion of your home office (if used regularly & exclusively for work)
3. Business-related travel (flights, hotels, mileage)
4. Marketing & advertising costs
5. Professional services (like accountants, legal help)

🚫 You CAN’T write off:
1. Personal expenses (even if you sometimes use them for work)
2. Everyday clothing (unless it’s a required uniform)
3. Commuting to your regular workplace
4. 100% of meals & entertainment (rules are strict here)
5. “Guessing” expenses without records

If you have any questions, send me a DM.

Your Numbers Are Trying to Tell You Something

When I meet with business owners, I’m always surprised how many don’t know their numbers.

And I get it—bookkeeping and financials can feel overwhelming.

But knowing your numbers helps you:

✔️ Make better decisions
✔️ Increase profitability
✔️ Take control of your cash flow

If you’ve ever felt unsure about your financials, let’s talk. I’ll help you understand what your numbers are really saying.

Just finished filing your business taxes? Most people think the work is done… but this is actually the best time to prepare for next year.

Everyone feels relieved after filing, but the best businesses start planning now.

This is when you:
- clean up books
- track deductions
- plan tax strategy

If taxes felt stressful this year, now is the time to get ahead so next year is simple.

Let me handle your books and expenses while you focus on your business.

Taxes are due in 14 days. April 15th is right around the corner.

If you haven't already, now is the time to get your taxes finalized and filed. Waiting until the last minute only adds stress and increases the chance of mistakes.

Get it done, get it off your plate, and move forward with confidence.

If only it worked that way 😅

In reality, not tracking your expenses is one of the fastest ways to lose money in your business and create problems at tax time. Please don't do this.

Contact me, and I can help you track your business expenses so that you don't have to worry about them.

When a client tells me they have peace of mind knowing their business finances are handled, that means more than anything. Starting and running a business is already a big responsibility. Your books shouldn’t add more stress to it.

I’m grateful for the trust my clients place in me. Helping business owners feel confident and stable in their finances is what CP Financial Services is all about.
