Once RMDs begin, the amount you’re required to withdraw from certain retirement accounts becomes another piece of your retirement income and tax picture. That’s why it can be helpful to think beyond simply calculating how much needs to come out.

When will you take the distribution? Do you need it for living expenses? How could it affect your taxable income? Does charitable giving factor into your plans?
