If you are looking to earn more than the .02% that bank savings accounts are paying consider Series I savings bonds.

Their rate combines a fixed rate, for the life of the bond, and an inflation rate that adjusts every 6 months.

I bonds purchased now have a composite interest rate of 7.12%.

Given record levels of inflation, with the anticipation that the rate of inflation will continue to increase, investigate I bonds.

Recovery Rebate Credit:

If taxpayer did not qualify for, or did not receive the full amount of the 3rd Economic Impact Payment (stimulus)
“EIC” they may be eligible to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit when filing their 2021 tax return.

In order to calculate they will need to know the amount of “EIC” received. This information can be located on the 6475 letter, mailed by the IRS in January, 2022

The full “EIC” was $1,400 per eligible individual.

Credit is reduced by the amount of the 3rd Economic Impact Payment, and further reduced if Adjusted Gross Income exceeds certain levels.
