June is Homeownership Month — a reminder that owning a home is about more than just real estate.

For many families, it represents stability, independence, and a foundation for long-term wealth. Whether you're preparing to buy your first home, refinance, or protect the investment you've already made, thoughtful financial planning plays a major role in the process.

Homeownership is one of life's biggest financial decisions. Make sure your strategy supports it.

After more than two decades of distinguished service to our country, we are proud to recognize Ronald Vinyard, MBA, CFP®, CRPS®, on his retirement from the United States Army.

Ron's military career was defined by leadership, discipline, and a deep commitment to serving others. Over more than 20 years, he held progressive leadership roles across the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, including key positions within the Department of Defense and as an instructor for the Army's Command and General Staff Officers Course, where he helped develop the next generation of military leaders.

Throughout his career, Ron has exemplified the values of service, integrity, and leadership. Qualities that continue to guide his work today as he helps individuals and families pursue their financial goals with confidence.

We are incredibly grateful for Ron's dedication to our country and proud to have him as part of our team. As he closes this remarkable chapter of military service, we look forward to his continued impact on the clients, colleagues, and communities he serves.

Please join us in congratulating Ron on his well-earned retirement and thanking him for his service.

After more than three decades of dedicated service to her clients and the financial advisory profession, our founder, Mary K. Fiorenzo, is retiring.

Mary established Legacy Financial Consulting Services with a vision rooted in trust, integrity, and long-term financial stewardship. From the very beginning, her mission was clear: to provide thoughtful, personalized guidance and to build lasting relationships grounded in care and accountability.

Prior to founding Legacy, Mary began her career in 1993 at UBS PaineWebber, where she developed the strong client-first philosophy that would define her work for years to come. In 2003, she transitioned to LPL Financial and went on to grow Legacy Financial Consulting Services into a respected and client-focused practice.

Throughout her career, Mary has been a steady and trusted partner to the individuals and families she served—helping them navigate life’s most important financial decisions with clarity and confidence. Her professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment have shaped not only this firm, but the lives of so many clients and colleagues along the way.

As Mary enters this well-earned next chapter, we celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind. We are deeply grateful for her leadership, her vision, and the enduring impact she has made on Legacy Financial Consulting Services.

Please join us in wishing Mary all the best in her retirement.

May is a great time to evaluate a Roth conversion. Here's why.

By now, you have a good picture of your income for the year. W-2s are in, Q1 estimates are filed, and you have enough data to model what a conversion would actually cost in taxes.

Three things to know before you convert:

Your projected adjusted gross income for the year. This determines your marginal rate and whether a conversion pushes you into a higher bracket.

Your current marginal tax rate versus your expected rate in retirement. If you expect to be in a lower bracket later, converting now might cost more than it saves.

How many years until you need the money. Roth conversions need time to work. The tax-free growth has to outpace the tax you paid to convert. Generally, the longer you can let it sit, the better the math.

This isn't a decision to make in December when options are limited. Mid-year gives you the visibility and the flexibility to get it right.

This Memorial Day, we honor those who gave everything in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we have the freedom to build the lives we live.

We are grateful.

The estate tax exemption is now $15 million per person. $30 million for married couples.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed in July 2025, made this number permanent and indexed it to inflation. That means it goes up over time, not down.

For most families, this means federal estate taxes are no longer a concern. But for those with concentrated wealth, business interests, or complex family structures, the planning conversation has shifted, not disappeared.

What matters now is how you title assets, how your trusts are structured, and whether your estate documents reflect the current law, not the one everyone spent years worrying about.

If your estate plan was built around the old $13.6 million exemption, it's worth a fresh look.

A late bill, a stalled retirement plan, the quiet weight of "am I going to be okay?"

None of it stays neatly in a spreadsheet. It follows you into your sleep, your conversations, the small moments that should feel light.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to name something that doesn't get said often enough in our industry: financial stress is real stress. And clarity, whatever that looks like for you, is one of the kindest gifts you can give your own peace of mind.

Sometimes the first step isn't a new strategy. It's a conversation with someone who actually listens.
If carrying it alone has started to feel heavier than it should, reach out.

We're here when you're ready.

The independent channel is not just growing. It is outperforming.

IBD advisors grew managed assets by 21.5% in 2024, ahead of every other channel. (Cerulli, 2025)

This is not just movement away from wirehouses.
It is movement toward something that works better.

Yes, the drivers are familiar:
stronger economics, real equity, greater autonomy.

But the advisors who sustain that momentum are usually optimizing for something deeper.

They want a business that reflects how they think.
A structure that supports their clients, not constrains them.
A culture that feels intentional, not inherited.

That is where supported independence matters.

Ownership on the front end.
Infrastructure behind the scenes.

The model is evolving. The gap is widening.

What do you want your practice to look like in ten years?

If that question has been coming up more often, it may be worth a conversation.
