Hi everyone! Well, heading to the end of 2024 tax season on 10/15/25. That is the last day you can efile a 2024 tax return.. tho you can still mail one in until 4/15/2028 & receive your refund. Hi everyone!! Just to let you know IRS has announced the start of tax season for 2025.. it will be Monday, Jan 27th. Getting later & later I know.. you can file before that.. but they won't start processing until that date. Additionally, those that have credits for their children, like EIC & CTC, are not allowed by statute to file until Feb 15th. A lot to do in a short time, I know.. but DLP Tax will accommodate everyone. Just call if you have any questions or need to book an appt!!

Just a heads up to everyone.. Friday May 17th is the last day to file a tax return for 2020. The IRS owes over $1 BILLION to more than 940,000 taxpayers. I believe much of this is due to people not getting one or both of the first two stimulus checks that were paid out that tax year. For those who didn't receive them for any reason, you can still claim these stimulus checks by filing a 2020 tax return & claiming it on the Rebate Recovery credit. That simple. After this date, the Statute of Limitations on tax year 2020 expires, & the money is forfeited to the US Treasury. If you have any questions, or need any help, please feel free to contact me!

April 15th is fast approaching.. just a reminder.. you can file an extension until Oct 15th, if you're not ready to go. IRS is desperate to get funded in the 10 wks allowed to file this year since their late start on Jan 29th. But you can efile for any given tax year, until Oct 15th. Many choose to file later, so they have money for the holidays. You can always then file early the next year, & effectively get 2 refunds in 6 months! Just letting you know.. there are options.. & it simply isn't true that your audit chances increase if you wait. In 37 yrs in business, I've found that to be quite the opposite. If you need help with an extension, or have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call. * On a side note: thank you to all those who reached out when I lost my mother during this tax season. Your kind thoughts were much appreciated.

Well, 2023 tax season has officially started, though any returns with the EITC & CTC won't be processed until mid-month. The earliest refund ck on those are due in late February or early March. Though the IRS started late (on Jan 29th).. the first due date is still April 15th. You can efile until October 15th, but if you owe any tax, it is due on April 15th. At the minimum, always file an extension.. you won't then be assessed any penalty for late filing, only on any tax owed. If you're owed a refund, you have 3 yrs to claim it without penalty. The constant hammering about April 15th is misleading.. it is NOT the last day to file in any given tax year. Also, the 2020 tax year expires on April 15th. That cannot be changed due to Statute of Limitations. Many didn't file because of the pandemic .. you still have time to claim any refund or rebate for that year. It is important you do so, after April 15th the US Treasury gets to keep it. Processing is going smoothly this year.. refunds are coming in about 2 wks rt now. Please be aware that most tax services raised their fees, some are ridiculously overcharging. Always ask the price upfront & don't sign anything you don't agree to.. you can always p/u your paperwork & walk away. If you have any questions, please contact me. I'm always happy to help.

10/16/2023

Well, tomorrow Monday Oct 16th is the last day to efile for 2022 tax year. It is the official end of the tax year EVERY year.. NOT April 15th!! If you haven't or can't file, don't worry.. you can still send it by mail, as long as you do it within 3 years, if you're receiving a refund. You can still get your refund by direct deposit, as well.. it just takes longer as it now has to be hand-processed. So, if you're sitting on your return, get it in! Or call a tax professional to do it for you..there are no more extensions past this date!! Call me if you need any help.. otherwise I'll see y'all in Jan 2024!!
