Franklin & Vaughn, LLC is a full-service CPA firm providing accounting, auditing, consulting and tax services to individuals and businesses. We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and help us deliver personalized services to our clients that exceed the highest professional standards of quality and excellence.
Candidates for this position will demonstrate an ability to achieve timely, valuable results in dynamic settings by utilizing leadership, organizational and analytical skills, encouraging collaboration and mastering attention to details. Candidates will possess outstanding communication skills along with the abilities to think abstractly and adapt quickly to technological advances.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist with performing financial statement audits, including planning and risk assessment, audit fieldwork (analytical procedures, detailed audit testing, and workpaper assembly), and report and financial statement preparation. (40%)
• Provide income tax preparation services to the firm’s individual and corporate income tax clients, including preparation of annual income tax return filings, and tax planning and projection calculations. (30%)
• Assume and maintain responsibility for preparation and upkeep of client general ledger files, including such tasks as journal entry preparation, account analysis and reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. (30%)
Qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ability to be self-motivated and use appropriate decision-making initiative
• Ability to balance efficient work with effective work, thus optimizing quality of output
• Ability to prioritize tasks and show effective time-management skills
• Comfort with serving as the primary liaison with selected clients
• Strong computer skills and comfort with learning new software applications
• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field
• Current or future candidate for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Zero to three years of practical, related work experience
