🚨 Important Update for Farmers & Ranchers 🚨

A recent Tax Court case, Young v. Commissioner is a big wake-up call for anyone reporting ongoing farm or ranch losses.

What happened?
The IRS denied ALL loss deductions for a ranch that showed losses year after year and added penalties.

Why?
Because the court determined the operation was not being run like a true business with a profit motive.

📝 What this means for you:
If your farm or ranch has losses, you need to show that you are actively trying to make a profit.

That includes:
✔️ Keeping clean, accurate books (not just spreadsheets)
✔️ Having a written business plan
✔️ Using separate business bank accounts

🚨 Important IRS Update for Taxpayers 🚨

Due to Executive Order 14247, the IRS is moving to fully electronic payments to improve security, reduce fraud, and speed up refunds.

📌 What's changing?
Beginning September 30, 2025, the IRS will begin phasing out paper tax refund checks. Refunds will be issued electronically-most commonly by direct deposit.

💡 What stays the same?
You'll still file your tax return the same way. Only the refund delivery method is changing.

✅ How to prepare now:
• Plan to use direct deposit-it's the fastest and safest option
• Be ready to provide your bank routing and account numbers when filing
• Electronic refunds are typically issued in under 21 days
