Please note the following important IRS guidance regarding refund advances:
If you worked for an employer, W-2 forms are required in order to apply for a refund advance.
While it may be tempting to file early, best practice is to wait for your W-2s. Filing without them can increase the risk of audits and cause delays in processing your return.
As your professional tax preparer, this is my recommendation to help ensure accuracy and avoid unnecessary issues.
Self-employed individuals do not need to wait, as W-2s do not apply in that situation.
