📣 Tax Season Update

We are currently experiencing an extremely busy tax season and are working hard to take care of everyone as quickly and accurately as possible.

To help us stay on track, if we have not heard from you or received your tax documents already, your return will automatically be placed on extension.

An extension simply gives us additional time to complete your return — it does not mean anything is wrong.

👍 What an Extension DOES
Gives you more time to FILE your return (until October 15)
Helps avoid late filing penalties
Allows time to gather missing documents
Reduces risk of mistakes

⚠️ What an Extension DOES NOT Do
It does NOT give more time to PAY
Any taxes owed are still due by April 15

Possible Consequences
💰 Interest – starts accruing on any unpaid balance after April 15
📈 Late payment penalty – usually 0.5% per month of unpaid tax
🧾 Estimate needed – you may need to estimate and pay with the extension

Good News
If the client is getting a refund → there is NO penalty at all 🎉
Many people file extensions every year — it’s very common and completely acceptable

This is a friendly reminder that many businesses are required to renew their registration with the Minnesota Secretary of State each year to remain in good standing. If you have not already completed your renewal, we encourage you to do so before December 31st, 2025 to avoid late fees, penalties, or interruptions to your business operations.
