I’m in the process of preparing to offer some Tai Chi Yoga Fusion classes for anyone who may be interested. It may be a little while before starting full blown classes, but I’ve been talking and thinking about it long enough that it’s time to start doing more… even if it’s just short practice sessions with just one or a small group of a few people who are willing to try something new. While developing in this process, I’m going to start sharing more information on here if you’d like to follow this page and learn more as we go along. I’m not going to be perfect in everything I do here, my desire is to keep things real and deal with real life encouragement for all who want to join in. I also want to thank my beautiful wife, Trena, for the inspiration and encouragement to even get this far to start. I’d also encourage you to check out Trena’s personal trainer page at Renew The Fire Fitness
Now, if you’ve gotten this far…
Please know that I am neither a Tai Chi master nor a yoga master. However, I am a certified personal trainer, and while I may not be the best or have years and years of experience “yet,” I do have a heart to help others through things I’ve personally experienced or watched people close to me struggle with. None of us are perfect, but I serve a perfect God, and I want to use my time, talents, and resources to help others however He directs me. I also want to do this in a way where we can encourage and build each other up.
Would you be interested in Tai Chi or yoga-style workouts? How about Tai Chi Yoga Fusion?
Don’t know what that is?
Men, before you say, “I wouldn’t be caught dead doing yoga”… as I’ve heard from Diamond Dallas Page “this ain’t yo mama’s yoga.” 😄
(yes, this is referring to the wrestler for those who know DDP)
For me, this will be a blend of Tai Chi movements, short yoga stretches, cardio-style activities, and dynamic resistance exercises for a full-body workout. We’ll also use more Tai Chi movements and yoga stretches for warming up and cooling down to work on improving flexibility, balance, posture, and mobility.
This is going to be a bit of a learning experience for me in some aspects too, but I promise to put my whole heart into helping us all grow and improve together if you’re willing to give it a try.
I view Tai Chi almost like “Mr. Miyagi” style movements from The Karate Kid — controlled motions, balance, focus, and body awareness. Yoga is often associated with stretching, balance, flexibility, and meditation. We’ll definitely work on balance through both Tai Chi movements and yoga stretches and poses.
Incorporating dynamic resistance will also provide a full-body workout while focusing heavily on strengthening your core muscles to improve posture, stability, overall strength, agility, and everyday movement.
This is intended to be faith-based and encouraging, but everyone is welcome.
Feel free to ask questions or message me if you’d like more information or might be interested in joining in.
Thank you taking the time to look into my post and please share if you will.
