"Declare Independence from Debt!"

Today all over the country, people are celebrating Independence Day. Every year on July 4th, the U.S. celebrates its declaration of independence from the rule of Great Britain and its king. The desire to be free from Britain had everything to do with MONEY. American colonies resisted the British Parliament's decision to place a tax on American colonies as a source of revenue to pay their war debts. The Brits were trying to require Americans to buy heavily taxed British goods such as sugar. Eventually, the colonist's resistance to all types of taxation led to the revolutionary war and, ultimately, American Independence.

Americans fought for independence from Great Britain from 1775-1783. Financial freedom and independence were so important that Americans were willing to die for it. Well, it's 2020 now, and it's time for another revolution. It's time to fight for Financial Independence. Americans are saddled with debt. It seems that people use debt and credit for every aspect of their lives; to buy homes, automobiles, furniture, food, clothing, to pay for vacations, and even to finance a college education. But this debt is destroying the future of adults, children, and families.

Americans may be living in the home they desire, driving the car they like, and even hold the diplomas they sought after, but these THINGS are financed with interest and comes at a high cost. People have a lot of THINGS but are sacrificing their future TIME, ENERGY, AND MONEY. People have become SLAVES to creditors and loan officers to have all this stuff. "They owe, they owe, they owe, so off to work they go." Most people don't consider that when they sign for loans and credit, they now owe all their time and effort to the person they borrowed from until the money is paid back in full. It seems to be the American way to have payments every month for virtually everything. However, this financial dependence leads you into DEBT SLAVERY, which is worse than the taxation that the American colonists experienced in the 1700s.

It's time to "Declare Independence from Debt!" Consider this from the scriptures:

When you BORROW money, you become a SLAVE:

"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender." (Proverbs 22:7)

2. Money can become your master. But you CAN'T serve God and money:

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (Matthew 6:24, Luke 16;13)

Financial Success Saturday 2020!
"New Year, New Financial Plan"

I plan to make 2020 my best financial year ever! This year is different because I live in debt freedom, and I truly understand the power of planning my finances and writing down my financial vision. The Bible says, “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2).

We have always been savers in my household, but we never wrote down our vision for how much we wanted to save until 2019. We set an amount we desired to save and wrote it down on paper for the first time. By the end of the year, we had saved three times our goal. That had NEVER happened before. I believe our savings success was supernatural because we were operating according to the scriptures by writing it down and because we had a plan for our money. When you have a plan and goals set for your money, it goes where you tell it to go instead of you wondering where it all went.

Being debt-free makes a massive difference in my financial life because instead of my money being spent on interest payments, making bankers and lenders wealthy, I have extra money to invest and give to others! I have the freedom to plan ALL of my money. I have found that most people are living without a plan, which causes them to live paycheck to paycheck, never having an abundance. I use to live that way even though I had a good income. I realized I was wasting it by using debt and not having a spending plan. I used to be a responder rather than a planner. Most people respond to advertisements, sales, their emotions, their friends, and family rather than planning their spending. But we need a sense of order. When we know what our financial resources are and have a plan to use them to accomplish a specific purpose or goal, we can live in financial peace instead of financial chaos and pressure.

One of the secrets to my financial success today is that I have put God and His Word first in my finances!! I know He is at work in my life and has used my bad decisions with money to show me who HE is! I am thankful for His grace and know that my past failures with money are covered and washed clean by His love and grace! I will continue to include Him in my plans, and 2020 will be my best year yet!

Financial Freedom Friday!

'A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children" (Proverbs 13:22).

The best way to create generational wealth is by leaving an inheritance for your children. But the key is to teach them about biblical financial responsibility and how to pass down wealth too (train them up in the way they should go). The bible says that a GOOD man or woman leaves an inheritance, not just for one generation, but the next one too. This is practical wisdom from God. For me and my family, we have decided to stop making financial decisions that rob us of our wealth. The way we spend our money must be carefully thought out using Godly wisdom (there are over 2000 scriptures about money). We want to leave our children money, houses, and land. So, we made the quality decision to stay out of DEBT (Romans 13:8) because owing money and paying interest was robbing us of our peace and our wealth!
