Today we celebrate the two year anniversary of Whitson CPAs, LLC. We want to say thank you to everyone who has helped us make these past two years a success. We hope for many more to come!

We decided to open Whitson CPAs, LLC on September 8th because the date is dear to our hearts. On September 8th, 2004 Kyle and I had our first date, so today we celebrate 12 years of being together as well. 💙

Whitson CPAs, LLC received four phone calls yesterday from 206-823-3844. Our caller ID showed the number as a cell phone located in WA. The voicemail was an automated voicemail saying we are being sued by the IRS. We did not return the call because THIS IS A SCAM.

Please do not fall victim to this scam. Do not EVER give any personal information out over the phone. The IRS will never make initial contact by phone.

Kyle and I received two phone calls yesterday (on our home phone) from an automated caller informing us that the IRS is suing us. The caller requested that we call a number within a certain amount of time or else we would be turned into the local county court system. We deleted the messages and carried on with our evening because...

THIS IS A SCAM!

Please do not give any information out over the phone to anyone claiming to work for the IRS. The IRS does not make initial contact by telephone. They will send a letter and at that time, I would always recommend taking the letter in to your accountant.

Please beware, there are several scams out there these days (people claiming to be the IRS, credit card companies, etc). NEVER give your personal information out over the phone.

Please feel free to share! I hate the thought of someone falling victim to one of these scams.
