EARLY FILERS — PLEASE READ 💜

If you’re checking Where’s My Refund and see a message that says your return is “delayed beyond the normal timeframe” — don’t panic.

This is a normal processing message, especially for early filers and PATH returns. It does NOT mean:
• There’s an error
• You’re being audited
• You need to do anything
• Your refund is denied

It simply means the IRS is still processing returns in order and your return hasn’t moved to the next step yet.

Most early filers will see their status jump straight from Return Received → Approved → Sent once processing clears.

👉 No action needed
👉 No need to check again until February 15th
👉 We’ll reach out if the IRS needs anything from you (most times they don’t)

This law requires the IRS to hold refunds until mid-to-late February, even if your return is filed early. This delay allows time for fraud prevention and identity verification.

📆 What to expect:
• Filing begins in January
• Refunds cannot be released before February 15th
• Most PATH Act refunds are issued mid-to-late February

This is a controlled testing period prior to the official filing season opening.
Not every return will be selected for a test batch. During HUB testing, the IRS only processes a limited number of returns to ensure systems are functioning properly.

As always, timelines are subject to IRS system readiness. Patience is a virtue — especially since we are still under the PATH Act, which means most refunds that include credits like EITC or ACTC will not be processed or released until mid to late February, even if filed early.
