Please excuse the Harvey Economic trumpets, but we are so pleased and proud of a recent success that was particularly gratifying. In a decision handed down in October 2020, a Denver District Court judge sided with our client, the State of Colorado Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Fraud in a case against CollegeAmerica, a for-profit higher education institution. This was a multi-year case, requiring extensive research, discovery, and testimony. Harvey Economics was hired by the Consumer Fraud Division due to our strong history of success in addressing complex economic issues. Harvey Economics provided litigation assistance through labor market analyses, survey research, and modeling. We supported trial exhibit preparation and strategy, expert testimony, and cross examination support. Our evidence shed light on the adverse effects the CollegeAmerica students experienced regarding employment opportunities, earnings, and personal finances. In this existential case, we were up against an army of well-financed attorneys and experts. Honestly, our Team’s work seemed like a 24/7, all-hands-on deck operation that nearly killed us. But the satisfaction of this victory gives lasting meaning to the work we do.
