(There has been an upsurge of rejected tax returns this year's with identity issues) You will need to set up an id.me login. Just follow the instructions... it takes about 15 min. Then you can request an ID PROTECTION PIN from irs . gov

PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY... We are recommending that our clients log on to the IRS.gov website and request an ID Protection PIN. An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a six-digit number that prevents someone else from filing a tax return using your Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
If you can not verify your identity on IRS.gov you can complete and mail in the form 15227 to request an ID Protection PIN.
