Donating to a charity? Incredibly good thing.

Getting a tax write-off for it? The cherry on top! 🍒

Starting in 2026, being able to deduct charitable donations isn't *just* limited to taxpayers who itemize their deductions.

If you take the standard deduction, you may be able to deduct charitable donations that are:

→ Paid in cash (check + card counts)

→ Made to a qualifying charity

→ Up to $1,000 ($2,000 if filing jointly)

NOTE: Donating clothing or other items doesn't count towards this deduction.

[If you want to share a cause or qualifying charity that you're passionate about supporting, this is a great opportunity to do so].

So, don't forget to give generously + save those receipts! 🤗

If you tuned into a livestream of my office right now, you'd see me doing my happy dance for a *good* tax change! 🥳

The Form 1099-NEC threshold for payments made in 2026 has INCREASED from $600 to $2,000.

Basically, if your business paid a nonemployee (like a contractor, freelancer, or other non-exempt service provider) less than $2,000 for services this year, you may not be required to issue them a 1099.

This might mean fewer tax filings you have to do next January, but what does it mean for you right now? ↓

Keep collecting W-9s from your contractors and tracking how much you pay to each of them!

Then, hope for at least one fewer form to file in 2027! 😜

Selling at a loss to lower your capital gains, then buying that same stock back a week later?

Yeah... the IRS is putting the kibosh on that!

That move can trigger the wash-sale rules, and it can delay when you're able to deduct your loss.

A wash sale looks at a 61-day window: 30 days before the sale, the date of the sale, and 30 days after the sale.

And no, buying it back in a different account (or even your spouse's account) isn't hiding a wash sale. No points for creativity here!!
