Injured Spouse Relief 💍💰

Did you know your refund can be taken if your spouse owes back child support, student loans, or other federal/state debt?

But here’s the good news 👇🏽
If you don’t owe that debt, you may be able to protect your portion of the refund by filing an Injured Spouse Allocation (Form 8379).

This allows the IRS to:
✔️ Separate your income
✔️ Separate your withholding
✔️ Calculate your share of the refund
✔️ Release the portion that belongs to you

🚨 PATH Act Update – Why Some Refunds Are Delayed 🚨

The PATH Act (Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act) requires the IRS to hold refunds that include Earned Income Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) to help prevent fraud.

👉 Even if your return is approved early, the IRS can’t release those funds until mid-February.
👉 Most people will start seeing deposits hit accounts around March 2nd (depending on your bank).

💡 This is normal — not an issue with your return!
