I have lost people I love to mental health struggles and depression. More than once.
So when I talk about this, it is not theoretical for me.

Three things I want to share:

First, find connection. Pick up the phone and call the friend you have been meaning to call. Go to that fraternity meeting, that lodge meeting, that gathering you have been skipping. Go to church and sit with people who care about you in a faith-based space. Sitting alone with your thoughts is not always the healthiest way to carry life's weight.

Second, I believe in prayer. I also believe that sometimes the answer to a prayer looks like a therapist. A counselor. Medication that was prescribed to you for a reason. Those are not separate from healing. They can be the healing.

Third, as a CFP® professional, I often think about this statistic. Nearly 7 in 10 Americans say financial uncertainty has left them feeling depressed or anxious.

Money stress and mental health are more closely connected than people talk about. If finances are weighing on you, that is not something to carry alone either. Resources and conversations exist for that too.

You are not alone. I mean that. ❤️

Q2 brought many meaningful moments, and this one stood out.

ELS Vision Wealth Management had the opportunity to be part of the Beaux and Debutante Ultimate Experience. Walking into that room, the energy was different. These weren't just students celebrating a milestone. They were future physicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who were already thinking about what comes next.

Legacy gets talked about a lot in this industry. What it actually looks like is showing up for people before they ever need a financial advisor. It's investing in the generation that's still figuring out what's possible.

We're proud to have been in that room. Can't wait to see what this group does.

Most people get a long weekend. Some of us get a reminder of exactly who is not coming home.
This Memorial Day, I am thinking about Tyler and the five heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice alongside him. I am thinking about every family that sets a table with one less person today.
Honor them. Say their names. And remember that freedom has always had a cost that most of us will never fully pay.
Serve First. Serve Last. Serve Always.
Rest well, Ty.

You might think you have to be wealthy to leave a legacy, but that’s a common myth. Legacy is more than money. It’s also about sharing the morals, traditions, and advice you inherited from your ancestors.

It's not common for us to talk about what it actually costs to take care of a parent. Not the money part. The part where a grown man texts his friend out of nowhere because he just needs to breathe for a minute.

That's what happened with my friend. He's been the primary caregiver for his mom for over a year. No break. No plan. Just figuring it out day by day because nobody sat down with his family before this season hit.

I'm praying for everyone right now who's in that place.

And I'm also thinking about everyone who still has time to have the conversation before they get there.

Long-term care planning isn't just about nursing homes and insurance policies. It's about protecting both generations. A parent with a plan in place isn't just protecting themselves. They're protecting their kids from having to make impossible decisions in the middle of grief and exhaustion.

The families that struggle the most aren't the ones who couldn't afford to plan. They're the ones who kept putting off the conversation.

If you haven't had that conversation yet with your parents or with your own financial advisor, now is the right time. Not when something happens. Now.

May birthdays hit different.

Katiah has been a part of this firm longer than almost anything else, and almost everything else about it has stayed the same. Roles have shifted, the team has grown, and the work has gotten bigger. Through all of it, she has been the constant.

She does not call attention to herself. She just makes sure everything runs. She notices what others miss, and she does it with a kind of warmth and ease that cannot be taught.

We are celebrating her this month and every month. Our prayer for her is abundance in every form it comes, because she has poured so much of herself into this work and into the people around her.

Happy Birthday, Katiah. This firm is better because you chose it. Wish Katiah Happy Birthday in the comments. 🎉❤️

I had a client come in a few years back. Solid income, good accounts, CPA on retainer. By every surface measure, he looked like someone who had it together.

I asked him five questions. He could answer two of them.

That's the gap I constantly see among high earners. Not a lack of effort. A plan that was never built to answer the right things.

Cash flow. Protection. Taxes. Retirement. Legacy. Five questions. Every financial plan should have a clear answer to all of them.

How many can your financial plan answer right now? Be honest.

It’s one of the most common pieces of financial advice people hear.

But what does “max out” actually mean for your situation?

For some people, the conversation is straightforward.

For others, not so much!

The bigger question may not simply be:

“Am I contributing enough?”

It may be:
“Is my current strategy aligned with what I’m actually trying to accomplish?”

On this episode of The Wealth Architect, Mario discusses some of the questions people have about what it really means to max out your 401 (k).

At ELS Vision Wealth Management, we believe thoughtful planning starts with understanding the full picture before making decisions.

What questions have you asked yourself about your own retirement strategy lately?

The conversation around gold and precious metals is everywhere right now.

Gold can play a role in a portfolio. But owning gold and precious metals does not automatically make a portfolio “safe.” The discussion around this asset class should be part of a broader conversation about how any investment fits within an overall strategy, risk tolerance, and long-term goals.

The key is to make decisions based on a well-thought-out strategy rather than on emotion, headlines, or short-term market narratives.

Follow for more conversations about portfolio strategy, risk, and long-term planning.

Every quarter, we take time to step back, evaluate where we are, and refocus on what matters most: serving our clients well.

Our Q2 planning meeting reinforced several key priorities for our team:
• Continuing to strengthen our processes and systems so we can provide a smoother, more consistent experience for every client we serve.
• Deepening our focus on financial planning and meaningful relationships so we can better help individuals and families pursue their goals and dreams with clarity and confidence.
• Expanding our visibility through education and community connections so more people can gain access to thoughtful financial guidance and long-term planning.

One of the most rewarding parts of this season has been how many of our new families and professionals were referred and introduced from people who trust our team. That continued confidence means a great deal to us.

Q2 is officially in motion, and we’re excited about the opportunity to continue growing, serving, and helping as many people as possible build toward the future they envision.

What are some topics or insights you’d like to see more of from our team this quarter?
