🎓 Maryland Student Loan Debt Relief Tax Credit – Apply Before Sept. 15!

Maryland taxpayers are encouraged to apply for the 2025 Student Loan Debt Relief Tax Credit through the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). This program offers an average tax credit of $1,800 to help pay down student loan debt.

✅ Eligibility:
- Maryland resident for the 2025 tax year
- Must file Maryland state income taxes for 2025
- Incurred at least $20,000 in student loan debt (undergrad/grad)
- Have at least $5,000 in outstanding student loans
- Be actively making payments on loans at time of application
- Must apply the full credit amount to student loan payments
