FYI: Identity Theft
Taxpayers please use wise judgement when selecting tax preparers. We've seen a higher trend this year than normal of victims of identity theft. You should use an actual tax office with certified tax preparers vs someone who prepares taxes from their home. These identity theft victims tried to file returns that have already been filed using info that they used previous year. Most were able to trace it back to illegal preparers who work from home. The IRS will certainly trace it!

FYI, Under the Path Law, there's no need to check where's my refund until after February 15th. No refunds with EIC will update a date until after February 15th. Checking where's my refund too many times daily will prompt ID Verify or even an audit.
