Not going to make the tax deadline?

The deadline to file your federal tax return is Wednesday April 15th. But taxpayers who need more time to file can file for automatic extension. Automatic extension gives taxpayers an additional 6 months to file their returns.

Taxpayers must file their extensions by April 15th.

Extensions also do NOT give taxpayers an extension to pay. All federal tax must still be paid by April 15th to avoid any penalties and interest.

If you’ve received a CP53E Notice recently, it means the IRS does not have direct deposit information on file for you.

In October the IRS mandated direct deposit for all taxpayers claiming a refund. The notice lets taxpayers know they need to update their bank information to receive their refund. Taxpayers can provide or update their banking information through their irs.gov account.

Taxpayers who do not respond to the notice may see delays in their refunds up to 6 weeks.
