Congratulations to Cookeville for being named one of "America's 100 Best Places to Retire"
Here is the full press release: Houston, Texas – Where to Retire has selected Cookeville, Tenn. as a top retirement destination in the sixth edition of “America’s 100 Best Places to Retire,” a comprehensive guidebook of the country’s most appealing retirement towns. The book, edited and published by the experts at Where to Retire Magazine.
Editors and staff spent eleven months researching more than 800 cities across the U.S. The final selection represents 35 states and includes three Tennessee destinations: Cookeville, Gatlinburg and Knoxville. Each city profile combines extensive research, local knowledge and in-depth interviews with retirees who made the move.

The chosen cities vary in size, climate, amenities and lifestyle, and each falls into one of 10 categories that focuses on the city’s defining feature, such as beaches, mountains, low costs, four seasons and appealing downtowns.

It was only last year that Cookeville landed on the radar of Where to Retire, making the cover and inside spread of their November/December 2017 magazine edition. This community was also recently awarded the coveted 2019 Seal of Approval Award by the American Association of Retirement Communities, and has been deemed a best place to retire in Tennessee since serving as an official Retire Tennessee community since 2007.
