THE CITY OF COMMERCE CELEBRATES ROUTE 66 REVITALIZATION WITH UNVEILING OF NEW ICONIC MONUMENT AT ALLEN’S FILLIN’ STATION
COMMERCE, OK- The City of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting and unveiling ceremony for its new Route 66 Monument, highlighting ongoing community efforts to boost tourism and welcome travelers to historic downtown Commerce.
The landmark is located at the corner of Main Street and Commerce Avenue, positioned directly next to the iconic Allen’s Fillin’ Station, a globally recognized staple for Route 66 travelers.
The new monument was provided by the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission as part of its widespread Route 66 Revitalization Grant Round 3 initiative to establish artistic landmarks across Mother Road communities.
The monument acts as a new visual anchor for the city, encouraging the thousands of tourists driving Oklahoma's stretch of Route 66 to stop and explore what Commerce has to offer.
Local business owners, residents, and Route 66 enthusiasts are invited to attend the celebration and be among the first to see the new landmark unveiled.
