For many veterans, an Honor Flight day begins long before dawn. Those who live several hours from Columbus may need to leave home at 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. to make our early airport check-in. After a full and emotional day in Washington, D.C., they return late at night and still face a long drive home.
Our Hotel Initiative removes that barrier by offering out-of-town veterans a two-night stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbus Airport. Veterans can arrive the night before their mission rested and ready, then stay another night after returning to Columbus rather than facing a long, late-night drive home.
We are grateful to Peak Retirement Planning, Inc. for sponsoring our veterans’ hotel rooms for the fall flight season and to Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbus Airport for its partnership in making this important program possible.
Together, these partnerships help us provide a safer, more comfortable, and fully accessible Honor Flight experience for veterans throughout our 40-county service area—because gratitude should never come with obstacles. 🇺🇸
