Individual Tax Preparer

Barb & Company is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates interested in working as a Tax Preparer in the Professional Services field in Columbia, SC. Ideal candidates will be seeking a bachelors in accounting at minimum but would like candidates with an accounting degree or candidate seeking masters of accountancy for CPA or EA designation. Seeking candidates with some individual tax preparation experience and exposure to Quickbooks.

As the Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for the preparation of simple and complex, individual Federal & State tax returns. If you're adept at getting things done and being thorough in your work, you may be qualified for this role.

Daily Responsibilities:

Prepare Individual Tax Returns
Keep in touch with clients to ensure necessary information/documents are up to date
Produce other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Manage incoming client calls to answer tax questions and set appointments
Provide factual data into Tax software application

Requirements:

Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
Income Tax Preparation experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and social skills and able to learn quickly
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to multitask effectively
Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or finance preferred
