It's Monday! Wanted to share a few things that we KNOW right now.
A small set of Economic Impact payments were released by the IRS for direct deposit. They will continue releasing direct deposits over the coming days and weeks.
If you have filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you shouldn't need to take any further action. There are always exceptions, but generally speaking, you should be good to go.
There has not been an official schedule of payments released by the IRS at this point. Late this week, they should be launching a new tool to be able to check your payment status and confirm how you will be receiving your payment. PLEASE NOTE! If you have taken advantage of our products that allow us to withhold fees for you, direct deposit information has been provided to the IRS that is tied to our bank partner. When you filed, we may have loaded an American Express Serve card, forwarded your deposit to your own checking, savings, or prepaid card account, or issued a check for you in one of our locations. At this time, our anticipation is that the IRS will honor that information, and our bank will load your card, deposit to your account, or issue a check to you. THIS MAY CHANGE, and if it does, we will share that for you here! (Please understand that this is a huge undertaking on the part of the Treasury, and many things are happening "on the fly" - there's a ton of logistics being worked out by a lot of systems and people, many of whom are working remotely.)
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have other questions!
