⛩️Welcome to Fushimi Inari Taisha - the shrine famous for its 10,000 red tori gates leading up the moutain. ⛩️

🧑‍🤝‍🧑When you first begin this trek, it will be crowded with hundreds, if not thousands, of eager indiviudals looking for that iconic picture of the gates. If you try and take a photo here, you're guaranteed to compete for a photo without someone else in it.

🗻But as you make your way to the top, you'll begin to notice less people. At the halfway point, you'll hear others looking at the map seeing how far they have left to go saying, "There's no way we can keep going" or "We only have X amount of daylight left."

🦟You keep going, invigorated by the sign that says only 20 minutes to the top (don't believe that sign). It will start to get dark, the mosquitoes will come out in droves, and every turn you'll wonder if it's the last flight of stairs up. But you keep on going, uncomfortable, tired and bitten by bugs.

🏯When you reach the top, instead of a view over the city, you arrive at a sacred place where those who made it have placed their prayers and hopes in the form of plaques or even a small red tori gate of their own.

💼It made me think of my journey of being a small business owner. You start off excited and fresh along with many others. As you continue, you encounter those who give up or fail and you think of joining them as you begin to see how long and challenging the road is ahead.

⛩️That final stretch seems to go on for miles and it gets lonely as more people quit and fall off. But when you make it to that summit, you'll meet other kindred souls who encourage you for having made it.

💡Each step of your journey to being a business owner makes you stronger, more determined. Even when the road gets long and lonely, keep on trekking because it is well worth the challenge.

💖When I finally made it to the top, and even back down the mountain, I was proud of what I did and that was the reward in of itself.

🗾Taking the leap across the pond to Japan was a game changer in my life. You ever have those dreams where you wonder how it could possibly happen?

💡As a big dreamer, I feel that all the time. But with every bucket list item turned goal turned to completed, I ask, "How can I make this happen?" instead of "How will this ever happen?" Further still, this trip to Japan would have never happened had I not pursued becoming a business owner and making my own mark - yet another dream I never thought possible.

🌸 ただいま! 🌸

Hello everyone, I've just come back from the trip of a lifetime (and let me tell you, the jetlag is real today 😅). Anyone got any tips for beating it?

🍡Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamed of visiting this beautiful place, but was worried it wouldn't live up to the expectations. Let me tell you, it exceeded everything I could have imagined. I don't have enough characters in this post to describe how wonderful our trip was. But I will say, if you have an opportunity to go - do it.

🍙Building on that, as a small business owner - it can feel impossible to take a break and step away from your work. Especially when your company feels fresh. I kept thinking, "I don't have time for this trip!"; especially since spring in Syracuse is a prime time for sales and it feels like everyone comes out of hibernation to do business aggressively again (if you're a Syracus-ian, you know). I remember feeling nervous that I would lose business or opportunities because I decided to leave my work computer at home.

🏯But you know what? My business didn't fall apart. In fact, I returned to find promising leads waiting in my inbox and months of burnout melted away. Now fully refreshed, I feel even better about approaching the growth of my firm, whereas before, the work felt like it was stretching onward without end.

🎍My encouragement to you, small business owner, is to take that bold leap to radically rest and celebrate how far you've come. Leave the work laptop at home, step out of the grind, and take a break. You'll be amazed at what life has to offer outside of work and how recharged and reinvigorated you will be when you come back.

🛑 ATTENTION - OFFICE CLOSURE 🛑

Palm Business Solutions, LLC will be closed for the following dates: April 22nd to May 8th for a much needed R&R.

We will be unavailable until our return on May 9th because...私は日本にいます (translation: I will be in Japan). 🌸

Being a small business owner has been a lot lately. You wear all the hats, are constantly growing in and out of your comfort zone, and weekends are usually nonexistent!

I wouldn't trade it for the world, however, because it's also given me an empowerment, flexibility and freedom I've never experienced working a 9-5.

That being said, it's been a trying season and my husband and I are excited to take a much needed break from the daily grind. Our hard work has allowed us this time to rest and I'm incredibly grateful for the dedication both Nathen Klein and I have put in this year.
