Hello to all clients and beyond!!!

Tax season, for the most part is behind us and there are a couple things I would like to address.

1. A very common question is "where are my refunds?" These questions can be answered by you, as it does take me a lot of time if I check for all of you. The IRS refund status can be checked by using the refund tracker on irs.gov. The state of Wisconsin has a feature called "where's my refund" on their home page. Both are very easy to use.

2. The mandated direct deposit issued by the irs..........
If you have received a letter from the irs stating "we couldn't direct deposit your 2025 refund" these are legit notices. These were issued because we did not have bank info in your tax return, even though I marked them as you wanted a paper check. I have heard from clients that to set up the requested account is not easy and it takes time. If you are ok, waiting, after the 30 days expires, they will send you a paper check. I am in the process of sending out a mass mailing regarding this to get ahead of the issue for next tax season.

Hope all is well with everyone, and I would like to say thank you one more time to all clients that I worked with this past season.

Have a great summer!

Jeff

Hello tax client world! We are down to the final stretch before the first tax deadline of April 15th. The season has been filled with ups and downs just like years past but we have managed to survive it all.

I know people are still dropping off but those returns are no longer guaranteed to be completed by the 15th due to workload. I prepare the taxes in the order that I receive them, no exceptions, no matter how many irs or dept of revenue notices you have received.

One last thing.....if you have dropped them off in the last two weeks I would appreciate that you hold off on the "just checking how my tax return is coming along" phone calls and texts. If I get flooded with these, it takes away from work time. I want to be able to get everyone their taxes before April 15th.

For the clients (new and old), please know that I sincerely appreciate your business and thank you. I love helping and explaining things in terms you can understand when it comes to differences from year to year.

Thanks again, and wish me luck with the last week and a half!!

Tax season is upon us!!

I have had this come up a couple times already and wanted to bring it to your attention......

For 2025, it was passed that overtime is not taxable, however, for the 2025 W2 forms, the employer is not required to break out the overtime as a seperate line item. If it is broken out, you will see a code TT on line 12. If you worked overtime and do not see this code, I will need your last pay stub or a print out from your employer showing the overtime worked. If you have this prior to your appointment or drop off it will help with the tax preparation process immensely.

Thank you, and I look forward to a great tax season!!

Hello everyone!!

The end of the year is coming fast and with that, I have been attending my annual tax update conference. I wanted to bring to your attention a couple big things that will affect some of you for the 2025 tax return.

1. If you purchased a NEW car in 2025, you may be able to deduct the interest on that loan. I will need the car make, model, and VIN in order to include it in the taxes.

2. Home energy credits expire this year, so if you were looking to make home improvements, they need to be paid for AND installed before year end.

3. Educator expenes - in the past, the cap was $300 for the deduction. In 2025, You can take a larger deduction if you spend more, but I will need a detailed breakdown of what was purchased.

4. Seniors get an additional $6,000 deduction in 2025.

5. IRS is going away from paper checks for everything. If you were a person that got a paper check, I will need your bank info for your refunds this year. If you are a person leary of the IRS having your bank info, they already have it. This no paper check also pertains to if you owe. The amount due will either have to be paid via the direct pay website or scheduled through the tax return itself at the time of filing. Estimated tax payments for 2026 will also need to be paid online. I am not for certain, but I assume the instructions from my tax software will have instructions on how to do this.

These are just some of the highlights coming for this year's tax returns. If you have more questions or need to do some last minute tax planning please send me an email or give me a call.

Have a great fall and holiday season, and I look forward to working with you again this upcoming tax season.

We want to thank all of you for your business again this year! We are fortunate to have such amazing clients to support our small business!
I have completed and filed everything that was delivered to us before April 11th. I will continue to process tax returns that have been dropped off after this date, so if you’ve done so or need to, please feel free to drop off in the box located outside. Please understand that we can’t guarantee them to be filed before April 15th.
Please feel free to continue to drop off payment with your signed e-file forms as my wife is there checking the drop box multiple times a day.
As most of you know, I always take a much-needed vacation after tax season…. This year’s date fell a little differently due to the NFL Draft coming to our area this year. With that said, I will return emails and messages as I am able.
Again, we appreciate your business and patience and look forward to seeing you next year!

Well, tax day (April 15th) is coming quick. Thank you for all the patience you have given me with turn around times to get returns back to you which is running roughly 2 weeks at this time.
Busy is a good thing, and I thank you for that!! If you have not gotten your materials to me yet, please do so by Monday March 24th to ensure I can get them prepared and back to you to sign before they are due.
If dropped off after this date, I will continue to process tax returns; however, I can no longer guarantee completion before the April 15th due date.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

Tax season is well under way, and I have been meeting with alot of new clients as well as returning clients. I thank each and every one of you for the business. In preparation for the end of the tax season, I am asking that you have your taxes dropped off no later than March 30th to ensure I have time to get them prepared and sent in by the deadline. Last year, at the end I was at a 2 week turn around to get them back to you.

Thanks again!
Jeff

Hello all!! Fall is here and we are half way through the last quarter of the year. It also brings me to my annual tax update seminar, which reminded me about the BOI reporting requirement for all businesses, whether you are an LLC, S-corp, or C-corp. This report is due January 1, 2025 and can be found on fincen.gov. You will need to upload a copy of the owners drivers license of the listed owner so I can't file this report for you. I did mine earlier this summer and it took only a couple of minutes. Please get this done to avoid any penalties.

WASHINGTON—Today, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) published its first set of guidance materials to aid the public, and in particular the small business community, in understanding upcoming beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements taking effect on January 1, 2...
