Got a letter from the IRS saying “Verify Your Identity” and now you’re panicking? 😩📬
First off, breathe.
This does NOT automatically mean you’re in trouble.
It usually means the IRS just wants to confirm it was really you who filed the return.
This happens a lot. Especially with:
• Refund claims
• Dependents
• Credits like EITC or CTC
• New address or new tax preparer
Do NOT ignore the letter. ❌
Do NOT try to guess your way through it.
Do NOT let it sit on your counter for 3 weeks.
