It’s officially tax season and here are 5 things from the big beautiful bill that’s gonna help you, me, us (black folks, the middle class and seniors) finally have a bigger refund this year.

🤑Salt and I’m not talking about the seasoning has been increased to $40K originally capped at $10K. This credit means that your property, state payroll taxes & personal property taxes are fully deductible up to $40k. So for all of us who’s property taxes increased and who work this deduction will help you itemize which means you can get a bigger refund.

👶🏽Child tax credit has been increased to $2200 of which $1700 is refundable per child for every child under 17 that you claim on your tax return.

👵🏽Seniors get an additional bonus deduction of $6k.

🚗Bought a new car in 2025? You deduct up to $10K in interest. The vehicle must have had its final assembly in the United States.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒And of course, the earned income credit has been increased, which happens annually to:
No qualifying children: $649
1 qualifying child: $4,328
2 qualifying children: $7,152
3 or more qualifying children: $8,046
