We rushed in late to the 710 Dragway event Friday night with Ryan "Fireball Camaro" Martin and Matt White with Golf Carting Magazine. It was an invitation only event and we were honored to be 1 of 10 cart racers invited! It was Slimers first race event after a new custom Skunkworks lithium battery and some tweaking of the Navitas tuning and it turned out great! We ran 3 "test and tune" runs and won each test race and it was decided that Andrew would race the "Race what you brung" class Friday night being that he is lighter than me, giving him a little better ET. We made it through the single elimination runs, winning them and even running the semi twice due to a tree error and made our way to the finals. Unfortunately, we lost in the final putting us in 2nd place for the night, only after a slower reaction time that made up the difference. We were among great company all night and with some crazy fast carts, so we feel very lucky to come out in 2nd! My goal when buying the Wicked Carts built racer was to create a new image for it and get it back on the podium and we did just that! Andrew and I are grateful for the opportunity and for the fun and friendship with this group! We missed Saturdays racing unfortunately as Andrew needed to get home and on a plane for a vacation trip but we look forward to more testing, hopefully some more speed and definitely looking forward to racing you guys some more! Fastest times and speeds for us we're 9.1 seconds in the 1/8th mile and just under 70mph at 69.78mph... on a golf cart!
