🚨 Important Notice: If your tax return contains any inaccuracies or fraudulent information, it is critical to amend it as soon as possible to avoid potential IRS civil penalties. This may include, but is not limited to, overstated or false itemized deductions, incorrect 1099-DIV reporting, fraudulent W-2 withholdings, inaccurate fuel tax credits, improper Schedule H (household employer) filings, ineligible clean energy credits, false business losses, or claiming dependents who do not qualify.
Please be advised that any tax professional will require payment upfront to amend a return they did not originally prepare. Amending a tax return involves reconstructing the original filing in its entirety, followed by accurately making and documenting all necessary corrections. In some cases, amended state and local returns may also be required. The process can become more complex if a copy of the original return is not available, which is often the case with improperly prepared filings.
Due to the level of risk involved, some tax professionals may decline to amend returns associated with fraudulent activity. However, I am available to assist, provided the work is completed accurately, ethically, and in full compliance with IRS regulations.
Please also note that bank products (fee-withholding from refunds) are not permitted for prior-year or amended returns. As such, clients must be prepared to remit payment at the time services are rendered.
If you require assistance in correcting your tax filings, I welcome you to reach out.
