Don't forget, tomorrow (April 15th) is the last day to file your personal Federal Taxes!!

If you're mailing your payment to the IRS, make sure you get it postmarked at the counter to avoid any late penalties. :)

If you're unable to file by tomorrow, you can file a form 4868 by April 15th to ask for an extension, but you may still incur interest fees

Please reach out with any questions :)

*scam alert*
Be one the lookout for fraudulent emails (like the one posted below) asking for your money or information, or claiming that you will be charged fines.
Annual renewal notices will always come directly from the Secretary of State, and if we are your registered agent, we will file them for you!
Always verify texts and emails asking for your money or information. Be careful and feel free to reach out with any questions or if you're ever unsure. We are here to help! :)

✨2026 tax update✨
In previous years, taxpayers who qualified for penalty relief were required to ask for it, leaving many who did not know how to apply for it facing late fees.

This year, about 1 million taxpayers are expected to automatically receive penalty relief! 🎉

The IRS will now automatically apply First-Time Abatement (FTA) penalty relief to eligible taxpayers who file late, instead of requiring them to apply for it.

Rememeber! If you’re a tipped worker, you can claim a deduction for your qualified tip income on your 2025 tax return. 😊

Previously, the IRS said they would update forms W-2 or 1099 this year for employer reporting; Instead, employees can calculate their deductions using amounts reported as tips on their W-2 box 7; tips reported to their employer on form 4070; or using form 4137 to include unreported tips.

The maximum annual tip deduction is $25,000. Check the comments for a reminder on which occupations qualify, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. 😊

*BEWARE*
Be on the look out for fraudulent emails or text messages claiming to be from government agencies. Scammers will sometimes use official logos and urgent language to attempt to trick you into providing personal information or making payments. Below are some examples of scams that have been going around, and best practices in protecting yourself:

verify renewal notices directly through your city, county, or state’s official website. If you have any doubts, contact your local licensing office directly by phone

check that the sender’s email address is an official government email and not a generic service like gmail or yahoo

log in directly to your DOR account and check for notices there

NEVER click on a link from an unknown email address or phone number

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions, and for your licensing and renewal needs!

The IRS has gone paperless! (when it comes to money)
On Sept 30th, the IRS has phased out checks, meaning they will no longer receive or issue payments via check, and instead, everything will be done via electronic payments. This means you can now only use Direct Pay, Debit/Credit Cards, or your IRS account to make or receive IRS payments.
